CVS Loot

Whew! I got almost everything I wanted at CVS today!! They were out of a few things, but I expected that. Because I used ECBs from last week, my total OOP for everything in the picture was . . . . . .drumroll please. . . . . $1.46, AND I got almost $13ECB to use for next time! YAY!!! See my previous post for how to do this for yourself. Let me know if you need some help or clarification. If it's your first time CVSing, and you don't have ECBs to use yet, you'll have a higher OOP, but it will continue to roll over on future purchases and next time, you won't have much OOP at all!

Do you use Natural Cleaners?

I've been thinking about using natural cleaners for a while now, but didn't really know where to begin. A few weeks ago, I bought a big box of baking soda and a gallon of white vinegar, but they've been sitting under the sink, unused, since then.

Well, today I made my first natural cleaner! I poured 1/4 cup baking soda and 1 cup vinegar in each of the toilets and let it sit for a moment. Then I scrubbed a little, and voila! Nice, sparkly clean toilets! Then I dumped 1/2 cup of baking soda (instead of bleach) in the washing machine with my sheets (and detergent). Now I'm excited to try some other natural cleaning methods because that was too easy, not to mention cheap! Maybe I can stop buying commercial cleaners all together and just search the internet for a 'recipe' each time I come across something new I need to clean. My husband is going to hang a clothesline up for me to air dry some of our laundry. That will save money on power and dryer sheets! :)

What tips do you have for natural or economical cleaning methods?

Coupons at the Dollar Tree

Did you know you can get Sunday papers at Dollar Tree?????? That's 1/2 price! I was there today (Saturday) and they had a whole bunch of them on a rack as you walk in the door! I think the reason they had so many left is because there was only 1 (Smart Source)coupon insert this past week. Check out Sunday Coupon Preview to see if tomorrow's paper will have many of the coupons you use. If it does, it would be worth a trip to Dollar Tree to pick up some extra papers! Let me know if you get some, I'm wondering if they stock them on Sundays, or maybe they get the leftovers from around town and stock them in the store on Mondays??? I'll check tomorrow and update.

Also. . . I got an extra Smart Source coupon insert this week, did you? I'm now getting a bundle of grocery store ads thrown on my driveway on Wednesdays, like the newspaper. It's the same ones that I used to get in my mailbox, but now they're in little plastic sleeve on my driveway on Wednesday mornings. Well, this week, there was also the Smart Source coupon insert. Score!

FANTASTIC DEALS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got home from STAPLES and got tons of free stuff!

2pkg thin Expo markers $1 ea.
2 small magnetic white boards $2 ea.
1 FANTASTIC Swissgear backpack $37.49-$37.49 (will recieve in Oct. Rewards)= FREE!
2pkg Zebra Cadoozles (mech. pencils) $2.99-$2.99 easy rebate = FREE!

2pkg Zebra Sarasa Gel pens $4.99-$4.99 easy rebate = FREE!
2 pkg Handy Lines Highlighters $4.99-$4.99 = FREE!

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!! I'm SO excited about all the fantastic FREEBIES I got at Staples!! I know some of you don't like to do rebates, but let me tell you, Staples really does have an EASY rebate system. All you do is go on line to www.stapleseasyrebates.com and type in the rebate offer number and the rebate number on your reciept. Then put in your name and address, and POOF! You're done! NOTHING TO MAIL IN!! How easy is that?! Then I write down how much I'm expecting to recieve in my "Rebate Book," which is just a little notebook that I write down all the rebates that I've submitted. Then when I get the rebate check in the mail, I mark it off in my book. I can check to see if I have or haven't gotten one I'm supposed to, and if I haven't then I can call and check up on it. Don't be scared of rebates. They're a great way to save money!

I also swung by World Market and picked up my FREE bag. (It was about 1:30 and they still had some). If you're going to the one in Arlington Highlands, call before you go to see if they have any left: 817-375-5199

Then I went to CVS and got more great deals:

1 gallon of Schepps milk $2.99-$1 ECB = $1.69
2 pkg filler paper $2 ea- $2 ECB = FREE!
2 pkg papermate pens $0.99-$0.99 ECB = FREE!
2 memo notebooks $0.99-$0.99 ECB = FREE!
2 Speed Stick mens deoderants $2.99- $2.00 ECB =$0.99

CVS ECBs (Extra Care Bucks) are another of my favorite ways to save money! Since they are an ongoing thing, I use them to pay for my purchase the following week, and usually have little or no out of pocket expense (OOP). PLUS, I get MORE ECBs back for the next time around! I love it!

In a little while, I'm going to head to Target for a few things:

Composition Notebooks $0.50
Elmers glue sticks $0.20/2
Pink erasers $0.20/2
Hand held pencil sharpeners $0.20
Rulers $0.20
Mens Graphic T's $5

Sunday Shopping Update

Well, CVS was a bust; they were out of everything! I think I saw them restocking various items around the store (not the ones I wanted), so maybe they just got a truck in *fingers crossed* and I can check again tomorrow, or try another store.

World Market, also a bust. They were out of bags. Did anyone get one? What time did you go to the store? I'm wondering how early they ran out. This isn't the first time they've done this giveaway. Hopefully they'll do it again soon!

I got everything on my list at Target and even rolled the $5 GC from the Sobe waters and the $10 GC from the ink cartridges over to another transaction of sobe waters and a few other things, so I ended up with 20 waters and another $5 GC to take home for next time.
